Everything is just out in the open for kids to see in a way that it isn't anymore for most kids in the US.InventingLizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08882590455596544329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3923391970801545914.post-19694650123918319322010-03-15T11:23:20.156-04:002010-03-15T11:23:20.156-04:00I love your posts about the adoption books, what a...I love your posts about the adoption books, what a great resource you have become! I wish these books were around when I was growing up. I was adopted, but not as a baby, it was when I was 4 years old, so I never had to be told that I was adopted or anything. But it would have been nice for my mom to have something to help us have conversations about adoption. Back then, she was told to kind of ignore it and it will go away, which is definitely not the right approach!Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07524692943966582775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3923391970801545914.post-64673155726413847082010-03-15T11:18:26.260-04:002010-03-15T11:18:26.260-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3923391970801545914.post-58617631720484976892010-03-15T10:55:33.948-04:002010-03-15T10:55:33.948-04:00Liz, The girl in the story says she was adopted wh...Liz, The girl in the story says she was adopted when she was one week old. She then asks, "Do you know how old you were when you were adopted?" That could work well for Elfe because her story isn't exactly like the one in the story, but that is the point. For everyone to share their own story. It gives her a chance to share how old she was.

That is amazing that she saw a birth and told you about it! I like how the book handles the explanation of her birth.Three Cats and a Babyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16757969648902689785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3923391970801545914.post-29052273303040372742010-03-15T08:47:46.536-04:002010-03-15T08:47:46.536-04:00What a sweet book! And, I just learned a few days ago that she has actually already seen a baby being born, so that part of the book should be fine for us!InventingLizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08882590455596544329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3923391970801545914.post-28109924298580423122010-03-14T12:33:02.414-04:002010-03-14T12:33:02.414-04:00I love that the book encourages the reader/child t...I love that the book encourages the reader/child to share his/her adoption story :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3923391970801545914.post-36458725855683456462010-03-14T11:40:25.363-04:002010-03-14T11:40:25.363-04:00What a wonderful book & a great review! What a wonderful book & a great review! My Mercurial Naturehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03973364439253187908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3923391970801545914.post-41303753800383933012010-03-13T22:10:15.329-05:002010-03-13T22:10:15.329-05:00That sounds like a very sweet book for your child!...That sounds like a very sweet book for your child!! :)Womb With A Storyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17199367829412887036noreply@blogger.com
