Never Underestimate the Power of Jayden Pictures

Years ago my sister and brother in law announced they will never come home for Thanksgiving again because the traffic is too much to deal with. The holiday makes the 7 hour drive a lot longer.

Logically, I understand.

But, my heart has been hurting because I so badly want my sister home for Thanksgiving this year.

So, I have been sending her text messages with pictures of Jayden asking for Aunt Katie to come home. (I know, it's not playing fair, haha.)

Guess what....my sister called Friday night and THEY ARE COMING HOME FOR THANKSGIVING!!!

YAAAAAY!

They are going to wait to leave Thursday morning instead of Wednesday evening, which should eliminate some of the traffic. I'm so excited. Jayden has changed so much since the last time she was home in the beginning of October. I can't wait.

SO HAPPY!

  2. Your little Jayden is so adorable! I'm so excited your sister will be coming for Thanksgiving! I haven't been home for Thanksgiving in 10 years... since high school! Just too impractical to spend all that money for a plane ticket for 3 days. But I know what you mean about not playing fair... looks like it worked ;) Happy ICLW!

  3. Jayden is gorgeous! That's not playing fair, but I like your style. Baby pictures are excellent bribery. I also run a before and after school program (plus K enrichment and preschool) for school agers so we have that in common!

  13. I certainly understand your desire to have family around to share the joy of your new baby. So glad for you that you will!

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia of course, but I think you guys in the U.S are kinda lucky to have a holiday set aside especially for giving thanks.

It is so helpful to focus on all the good things we have in our lives.

  21. Happy ICLW!!!

My sister did the same thing to me with my two nieces. I don't think I would go over to my sister's house quite as much if she didn't play the "niece's-want-their-Aunt-Chelle" card.
