Family Reunion

Well, today is the day.

I woke up this morning wondering what the hell I was thinking saying yes to going to this thing.

I guess it's too late now since I spent all last night baking cupcakes. Chocolate, yellow cake, marble, banana, and pumpkin cupcakes. Clearly since I can't bring our baby, I am attempting to distract everyone with cupcakes. Hey, look over here at these cupcakes....don't look at me who is fat, childless, and has no uterus.

If I could be invisible today, I would.

I've been getting more and more nervous because as the week has gone on, I have heard about more people coming. As a complete and total surprise my uncle and cousin drove up from VA. I haven't seen them in years.

I have to get going on cupcake decorating now. (Maybe if they look really nice everyone will like me.)

Think of me today and know whatever you are doing, you are having a better time.

  1. You know what I like to do before occasions such as family reuinions? I like to make a list of the great things going on in my life, with my husband, and prepare positive things to talk about. That way, if I already have all that in my head before hand, I'll make sure to talk about them and/or direct the conversation towards one of those topics. I also ask other people a lot about them too so I don't have to talk TOO much about me. I recommend it. Good luck today! -- Jay

  2. Girl I know. I hate family reunions because the first question always is when are y'all having a baby? There is always so much drama and Fighting it's just not worth it. Good luck. We are here for you and you better take care of you. If things become unbearable leave. You do not owe anyone anything. You are first priority. Love you and good luck!

  4. Uhg...hopefully your day goes by fast. A saying I always try to tell myself before I have to do something I don't want to is, "The anticipation of an event is far worse than the event itself." So hopefully you'll find this to be true today. Hang in there.

  6. I hope it all goes well. Just remember what a wonderful person you are, and if your own family can't accept them well then that is just wrong! I hope in the end it is a good time for you!
