I went to the doctor for my TB shot yesterday. I was nervous because my doctor moved to a new building so I have never been there before. Also, because I get crazy nervous whenever I go to the doctor. I've always been like that. It's when my anxiety disorder hits full force. I have even had times where I have went and my blood pressure is high, and then they take it again at the end of the appointment and it's normal. I just get so freaked out.
I have to go back tomorrow afternoon at 2 for them to check my arm and have my much dreaded physical.
If I can make it through my physical on Friday and our garage sale fundraiser this weekend, I will be feeling so much better. I am a complete mess this week.

Oh sweetie. Just take lots of deep breaths, and you can make it through this week. Hold your head high, and focus on the prize. These are awful things you have to go through in order to get that baby of yours, but it will all be worth it.
ReplyDeleteWhen you see that scale, just take a big breath, let it out slowly, and it will be ok. You don't even have to look at the number.
Thinking of you, and sending you a huge hug!
Hugs to you. I can feel your anxiety just reading. I have the exact same anxiety whenever I'd saw my RE (since I never received good news) and now whenever I have to go to the gyn it comes flooding back.
ReplyDeleteI know you'll do fine though. And do what I do on the scale...just shut your eyes, step on, step off and open them.
I'll be thinking of you!
A scale in the middle of the office? Doesn't that violate some kind of privacy laws or something?
ReplyDeleteSending some positive thoughts your way for this week!
Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you during this difficult week and wishing you tons of luck
ReplyDeleteI hope everything goes well for you. It is so hard when everything seems to go wrong instead of right. It is so unfair that some people can just have kids, and those of us who aren't genetically gifted that way, have to be approved by someone else to have a child. It sucks! Good luck on your fundraiser. I hope this is he last time you have to renew.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you. I'm exactly the same - my blood pressure actually rises when I'm at the doctor - we call it "white coat fever" - so you're definitely not alone!
ReplyDeleteAs for that scale - ugh - whoever's "bright" (and I use the term loosely) idea it was to put it in the middle of the office deserves a kick.
I will be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts that all will go well.
Good luck at your fundraiser!
Just thinking about going to get a regular physical gives me the creeps, so I can't imagine the stress and anxiety you are having over this right now. My blood pressure goes through the roof every single time I'm in an exam room. It's insane.
ReplyDeleteAnd I completely agree about the scale in the middle of the office. That's embarrassing for anyone to have to go through. Is there any dignity left in doctor's offices? I'd advise what Heather said: just shut your eyes. Don't even look at the number. The same goes for your blood pressure.
Thinking of you, sweetie. If I lived any closer, I'd go with you and hold your hand! But we'll all be there in spirit. Just remember that.
xo
Wear your heaviest shoes and biggest clothes you can. That way, you won't feel bad about the number, because you have all that shit on, so it won't be accurate in the least.
ReplyDeleteIt's a strategy that helped me.
And remember to breathe.
Those damn scales are the worst thing about any doctors appt!!! I was so happy to find out that my new OB has a scale in a room where nobody else can see the number but the nurse.
ReplyDeleteHope the rest of the week gets better for you!
Thinking of you, Lisa. I have to have one of those done too. I'm not looking forward to it, but only becasue I hate going to the docs, and my BP goes high when I go.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I hate to hear that you've had such an awful week. I know EXACTLY what you mean about the anxiety before appointments- they always have to take my BP at the end of the appointment too.
ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers crossed that things go better than expected and you have the weekend to recover.
Hugs!
Hang in there today...I'm thinking about you! I'm hoping everything goes smoothly. About that damn scale...isn't that against hippa laws or something? Hello privacy? Confidentiality? Hope you have a great garage sale fundraiser!!
ReplyDeleteUGH!!!!! I fricking hate those scales!!! My doctor's office has the exact same thing, a big digital scale right across from where everyone checks out, so every time I go to get weighed, everyone who is waiting to pay/make a new appointment can see my weight. I just always try to think, these people are strangers to me! Who cares what they think of my fat butt?? They won't remember me the moment I walk away.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, it always sucks. And I hope your surgery won't make a difference... I can't see why it would. You are just as capable of being an awesome mom as before.
Good luck, I'll be thinking about you. Hang in there. :-)
